Nock Mountains Ski-tours Longtrail

The wilderness and wellness ski passage

Long distance tours, fully enjoying nature, comfortable rests and culinary delights: the Nockberge Longtrail is more than endurance training in fresh air. The focus is on experiencing and enjoying the natural landscape plus relaxation in appealing lodgings with regional cuisine. The different stages enable any ski tourer to find his own pace and rhythm.

Element 1

The Journey is the Reward!

The Nockberge Longtrail cuts across the Carinthian Nock Mountains in four daily stages and touches on its way the Carinthian ski resorts Katschberg, Innerkrems, Turracher Höhe, Falkert and Bad Kleinkirchheim.

The Nockberge-Longtrail focuses on pleasure and well-being. Lonesome tours in the winter wonderland of the Carinthian Nock Mountains go hand in hand with comfortable hotels and wellness-resorts.

Experiencing pristine wilderness

By day physical exertion and the impressive experience of the Biosphere park’s rough nature (in wintertime definitely resembling an untouched wilderness) are paramount.

This ski tour is aimed at tourers enjoying the comfort of the hotels at the stage stops and keep well back any concept about their own performance. This is also the reason why the first ascents of the day are always prearranged with ski lifts.

STAGE 1 | From Katschberg to Innerkrems – a promising start

The first stage of the Nockberge-Longtrail offers an auspicious first taste of the entire ski tour: a comfortable start by lift, a stunning route crossing the mountain heights with a number of ascents and downhill skiing and finally carving swings to the day’s stop-off point on a well prepared slope. Place for a good rest: Blutige Alm Hütte, Innerkrems.

STAGE 2 | From Innerkrems up to Turracher Höhe – the royal stage of the tour

The “King’s stage” from Innerkrems to Turracherhöhe truly deserves its title, as it leads through the heart of the enchanting UNESCO Biosphere Park Nockberge, fascinates with a number of mountain tops (one of them is the Königsstuhl – with a height of 2.336 meters the highest point of the tour) and offers two great downhill runs. Place for a good rest: Grünleitennockhütte, Innerkrems
